About SUD Lisboa

SUD Lisboa sits on the Tagus riverfront in Belém, with the 25 de Abril Bridge right in front and the Cristo Rei statue across the river. Opened in 2017, it is a two-building complex by the Portuguese architect António Pinto, linked by a sky bridge.

The Terrazza has a Mediterranean restaurant, a lounge and a rooftop infinity pool over the river. The Hall is an events space of around 1,600 square metres over two floors, with floor-to-ceiling glass facing the water, for celebrations of up to around 1,500 guests.

Filming a wedding at SUD Lisboa

SUD is the opposite of a palace, and that is why couples choose it: clean lines, open space and the river everywhere. We film the ceremony and the speeches with the bridge and the water behind, and the light changes completely from late afternoon to night.

For big multi-day and Indian celebrations, the Hall gives room for a full production, and the glass lets us keep Lisbon in the frame even at night, with the bridge lit up behind the dance floor.

Planning your wedding film at SUD Lisboa

SUD is built around the river: the glass walls of the Hall, the rooftop infinity pool and the 25 de Abril Bridge. The light is strongest on the water in the late afternoon. Around Lisbon and the Atlantic coast, the sun sets at about 9 pm in June and July, about 8 pm in early September and about 7 pm in early October, so we plan the timeline backwards from sunset.

• Use the terrace and rooftop for the cocktail and portraits, with the bridge and Cristo Rei behind.
• For a large celebration in the Hall, share the layout with us so we can place cameras without blocking the glass.
• Plan the ceremony for the late afternoon to enjoy the river light during the cocktail.
• Confirm with the venue the rules for the rooftop and for drone footage near the river.

Getting there: SUD Lisboa is about 18 km from Lisbon airport, about 20 minutes by car without traffic.
