Anantara Vilamoura Algarve Resort sits in Vilamoura, close to the marina, surrounded by golf courses. It opened in 2017 and has around 280 rooms, so destination weddings can host most guests on site.

For smaller weddings of around 50 to 80 guests, ceremonies take place on the Golf Terrace or the Cascades Bridge, with dinner by the Cascades Pool or on the RIA Terrace. Larger celebrations move to the Continental Garden, for up to around 250 guests.

Filming a wedding at Anantara Vilamoura

Anantara is about warmth and space: open lawns, water and long Algarve evenings. We film the ceremony with the gardens and pools behind, and use the terraces for golden-hour portraits.

For multi-day celebrations, having every event inside one resort makes the days flow, and lets us cover the welcome party, the ceremony and the reception without long transfers.

Planning your wedding film at Anantara Vilamoura

Anantara is about space and water: lawns, pools and long evenings. Most guests stay on site, which keeps the day relaxed. In the Algarve the sun sets at about 9 pm in June and July, about 8 pm in early September and about 7 pm in early October, so we plan the timeline backwards from sunset.

• Plan the ceremony on the Golf Terrace or the Cascades Bridge for the light, and keep the golden hour for portraits by the water.
• For larger weddings in the Continental Garden, share the layout so we can plan camera positions for the ceremony and the dinner.
• Since guests stay on site, we can film the preparations and the party without transfers.
• Ask the resort about its rain plan and the rules for drone footage.

Getting there: Vilamoura is about 24 km from Faro airport, about 25 to 30 minutes by car without traffic.
